Girona is a city in northeastern Spain of nearly 100,000 inhabitants and is steeped in a rich history that dates back to 79 BC. It is the capital of the province that shares it name (Province of Girona) and is located just an hour northeast of Spain’s second largest city, Barcelona. The diversity, historical significance, and beautiful panorama makes this area of Spain an ideal destination for a vacation.
When we think of Europe, we are typically focused on the larger, more notable locations like London, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Austria, Rome, Venice, Lisbon and Madrid, to name a few. However, along with these destinations comes the stress of getting around and seeing the sights in overcrowded conditions and extremely heavy traffic. Logistics can be a nightmare, and if not planned flawlessly, your trip can quickly turn into a nightmare.
