Joanna and Jon are beautiful people.  I met them by accident.  A friend and I happened upon their wonderful store, while looking for materials to complete an art project that memorialized someone very special.  We explained to Joanna what we were doing and her care and compassion warmed our hearts.  She is the definition of the “beautiful people” that I wrote about in 2011.

Joanna and Jon are the owners of The Art Box, an art supply store (and shipping center!) located at 100650 Overseas Highway in Key Largo, Florida.  I was in Key Largo on vacation with a few friends, one who was in rehabilitative therapy at Island Dolphin Care.   When my friend and I explained to Joanna what we were doing, she smiled and gave us her support.

There are beautiful people throughout the world.  They have hearts that are immune to the coldness and apathy that infect so many souls.  Sometimes they are your neighbors and other times they may be sitting next to you on the airplane.  And often, they are strangers that you happen upon in beautiful, remote locations, like Key Largo.   Because beautiful people, like Joanna and Jon, are everywhere.

If you are ever in Key Largo, stop by and say hello to the good folk at the Art Box.  Check them out at their Facebook page, here.
